lakshmi

Late last year after a slower than normal summer and several months of playing the shell game with my finances, I called on the energy of my Higher Self and Goddess Lakshmi for wisdom and guidance. Lakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of wealth, prosperity (both material and spiritual), and good fortune.

I asked Lakshmi to help me move beyond thoughts of scarcity and financial constriction. Just getting by each month was not acceptable. I no longer wished to experience feelings of fear, lack and not enough. I wanted to get out of my own way and learn to receive again.

My question was:  What do I most need to know now to improve my outlook and receive the financial prosperity I deserve and desire?

This following text is what poured out on the pages of my journal… I hope you find what came up for me during this experience useful and supportive. It’s not easy for me to share, but it feels like the right the thing to do anyway. So here goes.

Journal entry from 10/23/13:

The liberation and prosperity you desire will be received with your complete trust and daily gratitude. Abundance is all around you and prosperity is shifting for you, your family, your community and the world. Things are improving are they not? Remember to notice every bit of abundance. Every kindness. Every drop of creative prosperity.

Practice patience and remain focused on how your talents and gifts can attract financial abundance through your entrepreneurial pursuits. Do what you love. Provide what those in your circles crave. Ask yourself how you can make more of an impact with your talents and abilities.

Be aware of the vibrations of your thoughts and remember to question and quiet your inner critic. Begin to recognize old patterns around financial prosperity. Remember how it felt to bring in six figures for most of your professional life. Lift yourself up through music, dance and your trademark generosity.

Whenever possible, think in terms of how you can respond to a situation vs. reacting and preparing for the worst. Ask for help from a trusted advisor about how you can restructure your finances. (Remember to reach out to Kelly)You have the ability to respond. Look closely at all of your contracts and begin to negotiate new ones.

When your feeling scared and low, don’t wish for things you really don’t want to experience. When you say things like: “I guess I’ll have to get a real job,” you are inviting the opposite of what you really want in your life. Practice Tapping to clear your emotions. You have all of the tools and resources you need to shift your energy. Use what you know.

Make note of all you are and have been manifesting and be grateful. Think about all of the unexpected boons you’ve received in the last couple of years and give thanks. You deserve all of these gifts and more.

Wake up each day and remember that everything you desire in coming to you now. Ask for guidance. Pray, meditate, write in your journal. Give thanks to the Goddess, God, the Universe, all of your angels and guides and everyone who’s ever loved you and has your best interest at heart.  Continue to do your part and then trust and surrender to the process.

Hold your head high and open yourself to RECEIVE all that you desire and deserve.

##

The day after my journaling session, I put aside my pride and asked for help from a good friend and highly successful financial advisor. Within minutes of looking at my finances, she had a solution that could set my family free from the weight of most of our debts. She said we could pull equity out of our income property, pay off the majority of our debt and stop playing the monthly shell game. I felt hopeful and relieved. Why didn’t I talk with her sooner?!

One journaling session followed by a meeting with a financial advisor empowered me to negotiate all of my insurance contracts and vendor agreements. I saved my family almost $2,000 each year by simply inspecting what we were paying for. I was feeling great!

I compiled all of the documents needed for the refinancing package. The pressure was lifting even though I was denied financing by three conservative local banks. I kept moving forward without feeling smashed by rejection. The final lender turned out to be a mortgage whisperer and the answer to my prayers. Suzanne was the first person who could see what we were trying to do, and she was armed with creative problem solving skills.

In less than 3 months of voicing my wish and asking for help, the refinancing package was done and almost all of our debt paid off. I began 2014 with Gratitude and deep sigh of relief. The shell game is no longer part of my reality.

This experience taught me so much about myself and how important it is to:

  • get out of your own way
  • ask for help sooner than later
  • move in the direction of your dreams
  • not be attached to the outcome
  • give thanks for EVERYTHING

Are you facing a challenge in your life? Name what you wish to change, do your part, ask for guidance, give thanks and then trust the process.

Wow Shann this is a beautiful and powerful demonstration of creating what you want and getting your needs met. Two things that really leaped off the page at me, 1. Do what you love, and 2. Use what you know
We really do have all of the tools we need at our fingertips…either within our own experience or just waiting for us within our own circle of connections (like your financial advisor). Now if we can only remember what we know, and to reach out and ask for what we don’t yet know – wonderful post full of wisdom. Thank you for sharing so openly. xo

      Hi Cindy,
Thank you for your kind comments. Remembering what we know is the riddle! You are a love. XO Shann

Love this Shann, an insightful answer and one we all know but can tend to ignore.. my new year intention is to get out of the way of blocking my own financial prosperity .. i will be putting all of these into action..I feel that we are abundant but focus on that which we feel we don’t have, creating a vibration of lack ..I like writing down each act of kindness and abundance that come our way.. a sure way to create a vibration of prosperity, thank you, Caroline

Thank you Caroline. I write in my abundance and gratitude journal several times each week. I also practice giving thanks at the beginning and end of each day. Here’s to the vibration of prosperity!

Its something I’m upping the ante on now 🙂 Here’s to it in all areas of life, Shann 🙂

Of the five at the end, asking for help is the most challenging. I just had a reading and was urged to ask for help, and I had to work hard to even understand the concept.

I asked my grown daughter to come help me last month and the ask itself was so hard, but she was so willing and so loving!

The messages are strong that this is what I need to do. Delegate and ask for help. And I don’t have to understand it, or be particularly comfortable with the concept, to do so.

Thanks, I think it’s time to add some targeted images to my inspiration altar. Lakshmi for one. And a healing goddess. And a love goddess. Hmmm… Great idea!

    So much appreciation for you!

      Hi Sue,

Thanks for your response. Asking for help has always been a struggle for me as well. The healing and compassionate energy of Kuan Yin might be a sweet addition to your altar.
      So much LOVE, Shann

What a beautiful journaling experience, and what a rich gift to share with us. I’m seeing a trend, these days, of needing to trust. I’m finding it in so much I do, too.
We are all just walking each other home, aren’t we?
Big hugs and butterflies to you, ~Teresa~

What a beautiful article. Thank you so much for sharing. I know I am feeling much more prosperous and abundance because of thanks and gratitude. I have a long way to go yet, but have seen such a huge shift in myself. And I love the reminder about tapping. 🙂

      Hi Mary,

My pleasure. Thank you making time to comment. Giving thanks is a great way to remain in the flow of abundance. Do you keep a gratitude journal?
